Data management dashboard design

Project type

UIUX design

Location

Bengaluru

This project came my way as part of a potential design collaboration with a leading financial firm. They wanted help reimagining one of their internal tools — a dashboard that would help their teams manage data requests, admin approvals, and internal operations more smoothly.

It wasn’t a live product yet — they were exploring how such a platform could work, and I was brought in to bring it to life visually and structurally. Even though I didn’t go ahead with the opportunity later, the design process itself was full of interesting challenges and decisions.

The Problem:
Employees across departments needed to request specific data sets, track the status of those requests, and communicate with admins. Meanwhile, the admin team was overwhelmed with scattered systems and manual tracking.

What I Designed:
Data Request Flow:
A clean and simple form system for employees to raise data requests — with clear progress tracking and status updates. No more back-and-forth emails.

Admin Dashboard:
A control panel that gave admins visibility into all incoming requests, deadlines, team assignments, and permissions — all on a single screen.

Task & Team Overview:
Designed lightweight modules where internal teams could view upcoming tasks, flag issues, and share quick notes.

Smart Visuals:
Instead of complex graphs, I added small visual cues — like colored tags and progress dots — so users could get context at a glance.

Mobile-Friendly Views:
Because many team leads are always on the move, I made sure the experience worked just as well on phones and tablets.

Even though I didn't move forward with the role, I really enjoyed designing this. It was one of those projects that reminded me how good UX can genuinely reduce stress and save time for people at work.
